The story of the region

We would like to connect with you and discuss how we can work with you as a municipality or region to build a sustainable future. We go for a coherent approach to the economy, quality of life and protection of natural systems. The challenges differ from region to region, as does how regional cooperation takes shape. A region’s borders may not be entirely fixed, but it will likely operate based on cooperation between neighbouring municipalities.

The current dominant view on the economy and society that uncritically prioritises markets is starting to show cracks. Governments must intervene and be part of the game by setting priorities, providing infrastructure, introducing regulations and facilitating financing. Collaboration between the various stakeholders at the local and regional levels is vital to a successful transition to sustainable communities.

The same applies to the social divide in society. Low-income groups experience relative or absolute deprivation. The divide may be partially due to gaps between urban and rural areas. If these gaps become severe, democracy can be under pressure. Here, we can also lay a link with environmental justice. Without government intervention, nature is in danger of deterioration, with unwanted ecological and social effects.
